瑕疵担保简单说就是保真,保真这两个字是收藏家、是买家共同的期待,也是拍卖公司、古董商、画廊应当负到的责任。二十几年前我在台湾担任古董商总经理的时候,就遇到如何解决保真的问题。当时我想出一个好方法,就是学习英国苏富比、佳士得的方式,明码标价,每一件东西一定把年代写好、尺寸写好,价格标价出来,因为这样才能扩大经营。当时东西都摆在2000平米的店面里边,每次有将近8000—10000件东西,这些东西分很多部门,包括:瓷器部门、杂项部门、玉器部门、翡翠部门和书画部门,这么多部门我们只好委托一些人做销售,因为有明码、因为有价钱,所以老板不在,生意也可以做。
