在1985年底,有2个吨位不同的桶式炉在联邦德国的柏林钢厂(BSB)和丹麦的轧钢公司(DDS)投产了。投产以后,它们一直在顺利生产,没有出现大的故障。根据Daido桶式炉的操作法,石墨电极是浸入到碱性渣里去的。因此可以在高功率因数下长电弧工作,因而电能利用率很高。 BSB的桶式炉,容量为50吨。炉用盛钢桶靠桥式吊车吊运,并用盛钢桶车载至操作位置。变压器容量18MVA,电压在143V到208V之间选用,有效功率可至8MW。
At the end of 1985, two different tonnage furnaces were put into operation at the German Steel Works (BSB) in Germany and the Danish Steel Rolling Company (DDS). After putting into production, they have been successfully produced without any major failure. According to the operation of the Daido barrel furnace, graphite electrodes are immersed in alkaline slag.
