林火探测系统应包括巡护、了望、探火、报警等方面,它是林火管理的一个重型系统。这个系统的功能是及时发现火情,准确探测起火地点,迅速报警,做到早发现,及时出动扑火,达到打早、打小的目的。有人把林火探测系统比喻人的眼睛,因此它的意义和作用是十分明显的。
