The American Laser Association (LAA) was announced at the US Laser and Electro-Optical Exhibition in June 1985. According to the president of the association, G.Sherman, the main purpose of the conference is to “enhance the interests of the US laser industry, help provide a healthy trading environment, without too many restrictions from the government; and strengthen the US laser industry in the world.
