常州冶金机械厂是国家重点冶金机械厂。主要是为冶金矿山、钢铁、有色等企业提供名种备件、备品和特殊设备。产品分为: (一)冶金刀片。可生产长度2.8米以下、直径1米以下的各种剪板机、冲剪机、剪断机等冶金和通用机械刀片。品种有矩形、圆形、异形三大类。产量已占全国冶金行业90％以上。1980年获冶金部优质产口称号,1981年获江苏省优质产品称号,1982年“龙城”牌武钢1.7米轧机8种冶金专用刀片获国家银质奖,并已开始向泰国、菲律宾出口。
