在民国初年的北京画坛中,陈师曾以其诗书画印无一不精而名著一时。可惜英年早逝,实为文化界的一大损失,梁任公谓“中国文化界的地震”。1923年10月17日,北京友朋三百余人在江西会馆悼念陈师曾,好友王梦白追绘遗像,姚茫父题写长款,音容文字,长留绢素,阅来让人无不动容。此作当视为陈、姚、王三人情谊之明证。陈姚之交,当代学者多有记述,~1而王梦白与陈师曾的交谊,虽常被提及,却多显简略,寥寥数语而已。笔者在搜集民国美术史
In the early years of the Republic of China in the Beijing painting circles, Chen Shicheng no longer have his poetry, calligrapher and masterpiece for a moment. Unfortunately, premature death, in fact, a major cultural loss, Liang Ren Gong called “earthquake in Chinese culture ”. On October 17, 1923, more than 300 friends and relatives of Beijing mourned Chen Shizeng in Jiangxi Guild Hall. His friend Wang Mengbai chased the painted portrait, and his father wrote a long paragraph with volume texts and long leaves of silk. This should be regarded as Chen, Yao, Wang three people’s evidence of friendship. At the turn of Chen Yao, there are many contemporary scholars who have described the friendship between Wang Mengbai and Chen Shizeng, though they are often mentioned, but they are simple and obvious, but only a few words.
