Let’s consider a coaxial cable that is slotted horizontally and periodically on an outer conductor. This “leaky cable” buried in the ground, as an intruder detection system components. We developed surface wave propagation theory along the air in the case of an air-ground plane interface. This paper presents numerical results of phase velocity and attenuation constants as a function of various parameters. The data of the electric field strength at the air-ground interface and the electric field distribution in the air above the buried cable are introduced.
