Occasionally a friend commissioned me to take a photo album of the mosque in Qingdao and learned that this mosque was built in 1898 at 9 Changzhou Road. Originally a post and telecommunications station, in 1929 Muslims relocated to Qingdao in all parts of the country donated money to buy mosques and became places to worship Muslims and conduct religious activities. As I tap the shutter again and again, the image of the light and shadow floating in my memory is slowly showing up. In my ear, the chanting of the Koran is low and peaceful, passing through the secluded blue brick alley like the echoes of the deep, beat
