光荣的使命 1999年9月,东帝汶发生严重骚乱。9月20日,由联合国授权的首批维和部队开始陆续进驻东帝汶。10月,联合国安理会通过决议,成立联合国驻东帝汶过渡行政当局,并由各成员国向东帝汶派驻维和警察部队。43个国家承诺并派遣了1600余名警察,其中,中国政府承诺派出15名警察,这是中国首次派出警察参加联合国维和行动。2000年1月31日,中国刑警学院侦查系副主任、副教授廉长刚率领15名中国民警来到满目疮痍的东帝汶首都帝力。
Glorious Mission In September 1999, there was a serious riot in East Timor. On September 20, the first batch of peacekeepers authorized by the United Nations started to enter East Timor one after another. In October, the UN Security Council passed a resolution setting up the UN Transitional Administration in East Timor. All member states sent peacekeeping police forces to East Timor. 43 countries promised and dispatched more than 1,600 police officers. Among them, the Chinese government promised to send 15 police officers. This is the first time that China has sent police to participate in the UN peacekeeping operations. On January 31, 2000, Lian Changan, deputy director of the Investigation Department of China Criminal Police College, led 15 Chinese civilian police to the devastated East Timor capital Dili.
