金光农场是广西农垦以甘蔗生产为主的最大的国营农场。地处广西西南部,大部分是旱坡地。1977年植蔗面积1万多亩,亩产1.23吨,1978年亩产1.38吨。近几来年连获得甘蔗大幅度增产,1987/88年榨季在上榨季亩产超4吨的基础上,再上一台阶,突破了5吨大关,植蔗面积27394亩,总产137668吨,亩产5.03吨,创本场历史最高水平。与1978年比,总产增加4.8倍,亩产提高2.6倍。现就其增产栽培技术措施调查分析如下。
