IPW ireless成立于1999年,是一家总部设在美国加州的无线宽带技术产品公司,研究和生产基于TD-CD M A标准的个人电脑、PD A高速无线接口、基站和网关等无线网络产品,将无线网络与互联网相连,从而形成一个完整的组网方案。该公司可提供固定、可携带和移动的宽带无线接入业务,并愿意将包含其核心技术的芯片转让给设备制造商来生产系统设备。在短短几年内,该公司迅速在全球五大洲建立市场,应用其技术产品组网的运营商分布在澳大利亚、新西兰、马来西亚、南非、德国、土耳其、英国和美国等,试用其技术产品的运营商达100多个。IPW ireless产品的主要特点包括:高速移动宽带、可使用廉价3.5G H z频段资源、采用不连续收发使系统功耗大大降低、非视线传播、完整的技术标准、使用非配对频道、网关可直接与互联网相连等。基于IPW ireless产品组网的运营模式特点,是将用户终端和网络运营紧密捆绑在一起。由于采用U M TS TD D空中接口,IPW ireless的基站可以与已有的U M TS FD D网络共享天线和机房,大大降低网络部署成本。本文是基于Telecom Asia杂志技术总编John C.Tanner2005年1月对IPW ireless总裁ChrisG ilbert的采访记录,经编译而成。
Founded in 1999, IPW ireless is a wireless broadband technology products company headquartered in California, USA. It develops and manufactures wireless networking products based on the TD-CD MA standards such as personal computers, PD A high-speed wireless interfaces, base stations and gateways, Network and the Internet connected to form a complete networking program.
