Criticism of Love in Martin Eden has traditionally put Rose in a negative light. From a sympathetic perspective on Rose’s love, analyzing the gradual transformation of Rose’s mentality in getting along with Martin leads us to have a new perspective on Rose’s mentality and have a deeper understanding of her.
