甘珠尔庙建于清乾隆年间,逐渐形成了庙会集市,成为呼伦贝尔草原特有的民族贸易形式之一。在相当长的时间内,成为呼伦贝尔地区的商品集散地和批发市场;吸引着呼伦贝尔地区各族人民和东北地区及内地商人,甚至日本、朝鲜、俄罗斯等国的商人来此进行贸易活动;在促进呼伦贝尔地区的经济发展和人民生活的改善上起到一定的积极作用。
