2008年6月29日至7月1日,火炬“祥云”降临宁夏,先后在宁夏中卫市、吴忠市、银川市传递。火炬在宁夏传递的总里程为36.16公里,共有75万余人观看火炬传递。火炬传递过程中,广大群众积极参与、文明观看,做到了一路顺畅、一路平安、一路欢庆。北京奥组委和公安部奥保办随队领导对宁夏火炬传递活动给予充分肯定和高度评价,认为组织出色,现场气氛热烈,实现了安全有序与场面热烈、民族风情充分展示的恰当结合,宁夏是境内传递工作做得最好的省区之一。
