High-temperature treatment of cancer has attracted attention. It is known that heat easily destroys cancer cells. Cells that are hypoxic or in S phase of cell dynamics are insensitive to radiation, but they are sensitive to heat damage, so high temperature can enhance the radiation effect. . High temperatures also interfere with cells recovering from sub-lethal radiation damage. The high temperature itself is not cancerous, and local high temperatures generally have few serious adverse side effects. The authors analyzed 107 cases of local hyperthermia (excluding 11 uncompleted treatment plans) from April 1980 to October 1981.
