The Machinery Industry Bureau of Hunan Province was entrusted by the General Machinery Administration of the Ministry of Machinery Industry to hold the ZHZ-55 Muffler Appraisal Meeting in Changsha from November 7th to 1979. Seventy-seven representatives from 50 units across the country reviewed prototypes and technical documents, and visited the scene of four muffler trial units in Changsha. The ZHZ-55 muffler consists of five units including the First Design Institute of the First Division, the Beijing Institute of Labor Protection Science, the Changsha Muffler Plant, Tongji University, and the Shanghai Blower Plant.
