美航宇局(NASA)现正着手设计将在肯尼迪空间中心(KSC)建设的“空间站装配检修(SSPF)”设施。拟用该设施为发射前的空间站装配部件进行检查。分多次发射的空间站各单元,在地面组装后需进行各种试验。 SSPF、将有三层楼房高,由8个有效载荷装配作业区和大小不等的19个研究室、中间库、气闸等组成,总面积为41100m~2,工程总费用约需4亿美元。这是KSC继阿波罗计划以来最大的建设计划,由美麦道公司承包设计。装配作业区拟于1994年1月1日完成。
NASA is now designing the Space Station Overhaul (SSPF) facility to be built at the Kennedy Space Center (KSC). It is intended that this facility be used for the inspection of the space station assembly components prior to launch. Sub-launch of the space station units in various units, after the assembly on the ground to conduct a variety of tests.
