中国人民和日本人民的友谊,就历史的记载来看,从唐朝到现在已经一千多年了。我们翻开唐朝人的诗文集,几乎在每一部里都能看见以“送僧归日本”为题的或其他和日本诗人往还唱和的诗篇。开元天宝间(713-755),且有日本人朝臣仲满任唐朝中央政府的左散骑常侍,当时中国和日本文化交流的影响到今天还保存在日本的语文、宗教、文学、艺术以至风俗习惯上面。日本人用中文写的著作差不多可以抄成一本很厚的目录,中国有许多古书在本土佚去了的,到现在还在日本保存着,我们的音乐有早已失传了的,也还在日本流传、演奏。二十多年前我曾听过日本收灌的香乐唱片如“破阵乐”和“春莺啭”等,这都是我国早已失传了的唐代有名乐舞。从唐朝一直到日本明治维新,两国人民的来往和文化交
