癌胚抗原(简称CEA)由Gold和Frcdman首先于1965年从结肠腺癌和胎儿结肠粘膜组织浸液中分离出来.近二十年的研究发现多种肿瘤病人血中CEA明显增高,并与肿瘤的面积,预后及治疗效果有关。但肝、胆疾患时循环中CEA亦可明显增加.肝脏在调节CEA中有重要作用。CEA是一种分子量为200,000的糖蛋白,糖含量为55~65%.糖链终未多为岩藻糖或唾液酸亦可为半乳糖和N-乙酰萄糖胺。CEA的结构与其代谢关系
