余英时先生认为“君子”最初只是贵族阶层或执政者的称谓,经过孔子的创造性发挥与阐释,“君子”被赋予以“仁”和“礼”为核心的道德意蕴,成为一种可望可及的理想人格。后孔子时代,孟子和荀子分别从“仁”与“礼”两个向度进一步丰富了“君子”的道德义涵。儒家“君子之学”的当代价值是多方面的,这里仅从延续民族文化血脉,当代官德文化的塑造,提高社会治理成效等三个方面略加陈述。
