The technical design of the electrically-driven TЭm12 shunting diesel locomotive with a group of drive wheels was completed at the Yudhinov diesel locomotive manufacturing plant. The diesel locomotive is equipped with a 17ДT diesel-generator set. The unit consists of a 8Ч H26 / 26 diesel engine with 1,200 horsepower at rated speed of 1000 rpm and a ГⅡ-319 DC generator with a power rating of 780 kW.
