有人估计美国成年人10—15%患有显著的耳聋病。但是到目前为止,对其发病原因知道得还很不够。据1968年的统计,将其病因归纳为:20%为传染病所致;7%由于创伤,35%列为原因不明;另外35%则“诊断含糊”(包括老年性、遗传性和噪声性等耳聋)。很久以来,人们都认为听力减退是衰老不可避免的结果。如果老年性聋只是由于衰老所致,那么,生活在同样环境中的人,为什么有人在60岁时就出现耳聋而有人80岁时听力仍旧很好? 遗传影响对成年听力减退肯定起着重要作用,但至今尚未受到重视。本文目的就是要强调成年人遗传性听力减退所占的地位,并简要地说
