简明仁毕业于台湾交通大学,在英国柏克莱大学取得博士学位,现任台湾大众电脑公司董事长,兼任台大、长庚医学院教授。 简明仁的父亲简吉为台湾第一个农民运动的领袖;母亲陈何中年丧偶,以助产士为业,自力抚养遗孤、济助贫难,笃信佛教,最后遁入空门;妻王雪龄(王永庆的女儿)留学英国。 简明仁长期在高度压抑环境下成长,养成了深沉、稳重的性格和择善固执、对人宽容的气度。他在美国柏克莱大学取得了电机博士学位,并在贝尔实验室工作多年。自美返台后,他放弃一般王永庆女婿们的扶择(投身台塑集团),反而协同王雪龄亲妹王 Jennifer graduated from National Chiao-Tung University in Taiwan with a Ph.D. degree from the University of Berkeley in the United Kingdom.
