江汉平原地处长江中游,全年实际日照时数为1800——2100小时,年平均温度16℃,无霜期250—280天,年降雨量1100—1400厘米,土地肥沃辽阔,是我国重要的粮棉基地,也是我国蚕豆的主要集中产地之一。但蚕豆单产一直不高,常年单产只有100多斤,最高也只有200多斤,近年来,在“蚕豆高产栽培研究”的试验示范中,连续三年出现亩产500斤左右的高产纪录(其中1983年春季在蚕豆花荚期出现8—9级风灾袭击)。摘掉了蚕豆低产的帽子,实践证明,只要掌握蚕豆生理特点,因地制宜,采取相应栽培技术措施,实行科学种田,蚕豆是可以高产稳产的。一、产量结构及其生育特点 1、10000株/亩左右,有效分枝35000—40000个/亩,单枝成荚4—5荚,2—2.5粒/荚,百粒重65—75克。
