要全面理解当代中国的历史,首先需要从新中国成立60年的历程中去寻找。60年,在人类的漫长发展过程中无疑是极其短暂的弹指瞬间,但就其60年的发展征程而言,当代中国所经历的变革和转折,说是“地覆天翻”、“震惊世人”亦不为过。当代中国的道路已被视为人类发展过程中的一个比较成功的模式,越来越受世人的关注。自然,这60年的道路绝非坦途,险滩暗礁以至困境之时确复不少。这60年是一段充满着希望也历经艰险的中华民族奋斗的历史,需要我们去理解它、总结它;毋庸置疑,要全面地理解当代中国的历史,还要走进她的历史深处,从近代百年来中国历史运动的演进中,从数千年中国历史文明的演进中,从近百年中西交流、冲突的互动与演进中,去寻找由昨日之中国发展为今日之中国的历史根因。限于篇幅,本组笔谈主要从新中国成立60年的某个时段或侧面,来反映当代中国曾走过的一段路程,给我们理解当代中国发展的历史,提供某些参考或借鉴;并以此组笔谈,作为本刊对共和国成立60周年的纪念。
To fully understand the history of contemporary China, we must first look for it in the 60 years since the founding of New China. For 60 years, it is undoubtedly an extremely short ephemeral moment in the long course of human development.
