2014年8月24日,由通号工程局集团北京研究设计实验中心承担的拉萨至日喀则铁路通信系统检测项目顺利完成,为下一步拉日铁路的开通运营奠定了坚实的基础。测试项目主要包括:光缆线路、光传输及时钟时间分配系统、GSM-R专用移动通信系统、数字调度通信系统、电话交换及接人系统、数据通信系统、综合视频监控系统、环境与电源监控系统、应急通信系统、会议电视系统、电源系统等11个子系统。拉萨至日喀则铁路地处青藏高原西南部,线路全部位于西藏自治区境内,行经西藏自治区的拉萨市和日喀则地区,正线全长253.063km。
