自从1964年10月1日在日本成功地开通了世界上第一条行车时速超过200公里的高速铁路——东海道新干线以来,由于这种铁路具有下列优点而得到蓬勃发展:1.节约能源在相同的客运运能条件下,汽车运输所耗的能源约为高速铁路的3倍,航空客运则为5.2倍。而在相同的货运运能时,航(船)运耗费的能源约为高速铁路的1.3倍,而用卡车运输则高达3倍之多。
Since the first high-speed railway in the world, the world’s first high-speed railway with a speed of more than 200 kilometers-Tokaido Shinkansen, has been successfully opened in Japan on October 1, 1964, the railway is booming thanks to the following advantages: 1. Saving energy Under the same conditions of passenger transport capacity, the energy consumed by motor transport is about 3 times of that of high-speed railway and that of air passenger transport is 5.2 times. In the same cargo capacity, the energy consumed by shipping is about 1.3 times as high-speed as the high-speed railway and up to three times as large as that of trucking.
