故宫博物院内多处历史建筑由于空间狭小,不便对外大规模开放;部分建筑也因保护性修缮,需要暂时关闭。利用虚拟现实技术,对这些建筑和内部空间进行展示,是解决文化遗产保护和公众参观服务之间矛盾的有效方案。虚拟现实技术以高沉浸感、更顺畅的人机交互方式为主要技术特征,非常适合博物馆访问者的参观需求,因此可以作为相对脆弱的历史建筑内部空间展示的有效手段。本文探讨了虚拟现实技术的特点,对比了几种虚拟现实技术的应用范例,介绍了故宫博物院在尝试利用CAVE(CAVE Automatic Virtual Environment)洞穴状自动虚拟系统进行三希堂等历史建筑空间展示的情况,并展望了利用该技术进行原状陈列工作的发展前景。
Due to the small space, many historical buildings in the Palace Museum are inconvenient to open to the public on a large scale. Some of the buildings are also temporarily closed due to protective repairs. The use of virtual reality technology to display these buildings and interior spaces is an effective solution to the conflict between cultural heritage protection and public visit services. Virtual reality technology is characterized by high immersion and smoother human-computer interaction, which is very suitable for the visitor’s visit to the museum. Therefore, it can be used as an effective method to display the fragile interior space of historic buildings. This article explores the characteristics of virtual reality technology and compares several application examples of virtual reality technology. It introduces the case where the National Palace Museum tried to demonstrate CAX (CAVE Automatic Virtual Environment) cavern architecture such as San Xi Tang , And looks forward to the prospect of using the technology to make the original display work.
