In the spring of 1989, MIT Press published a book entitled Robot Science edited by Michael Brady. In his long essay, the author, from an individual point of view, proposed thirty questions to be solved if we were to develop the science of robotics. These thirty questions are: 1) continued demand for better sensors; 2) better sensor data; 3) sensor control; 4) real-time sensor processing architecture; Perceived primitive 7) model-based vision 8) dynamic vision 9) shape 10) system architecture for mobility 11) high bandwidth control 12) sensor-based driving and pace planning 13) energy Consumption and pace of movement; 14) the design of the head, tip joints or knee joints; 15) executive devices and mechatronics; 16) parallelism, suppleness and robot world; 17) experimental evaluation of modern control techniques; 18) Multiprocessing architecture for a mobile vehicle or robotic hand 19) adding functionality 20) increasing sensing 21) models for qualitative processing 22) planning in real world 23) theory of qualitative processing and naive physics 24) Shape and dynamics; 25) from design to production; 26) assembly knowledge; 27) fine motion planning; 28) collision detection and results; In elaborating on these issues, the authors note the development of robotics, focusing on unresolved issues, areas of problems, and seemingly decisive topics in the development of the discipline. We feel that the author’s elaboration on these issues may give rise to some people’s interest.
