食品是人类赖以生存的物质基础。上海作为国际性大都市,目前市区常住人口逾千万,每年要消耗蔬菜100多万吨、肉30多万吨、蛋1.5亿多公斤、奶20多万吨,对副食品需求不仅量大而且质量要求越来越高,因此食品工业发展前景十分广阔。食品问题不仅直接关系到人口素质和子孙万代的未来,而且与市郊现代化农业和乡镇工业的发展以及整个农村经济的繁荣都息息相关。
Food is the material basis for human survival. As an international metropolis, Shanghai has a permanent population of more than 10 million. It consumes more than 1 million tons of vegetables, more than 300,000 tons of meat, more than 150 million kilograms of eggs, and more than 200,000 tons of milk each year. The demand for non-staple food is not only large. Moreover, the quality requirements are getting higher and higher, so the food industry has a very broad prospect for development. The food issue is not only directly related to the quality of the population and the future of future generations, but also closely related to the development of suburban modern agriculture and township industries and the prosperity of the entire rural economy.
