杨仲子(1885-1962年),原名杨祖锡,亦名扬子,号石冥山人、一粟翁、梦春楼主。江苏南京人。早年就读于江南格致书院,后留学法国攻读化学工程,后又去瑞士学习钢琴、音乐理论、作曲及西洋文学。归国后任北平女子文理学院音乐系主任、北平艺术学院院长,并兼任北京大学、中法大学等校的法文教授。新中国成立后,任南京市文物管理委员会主任,是著名的音乐家和音乐教育家,一生致力于音乐和音乐教育,建立了中国音乐教育体制,是将西方音乐教育引入中国的第一人。
