《大学英语》的许多篇章都运用了英语修辞格,而且有专项练习。也就是说,当今的英语教学已不是以往单纯地认知生词、短语、记住语法规则的机械式学习,而是在掌握了生词、短语、记住语法规则的机械式学习,而是在掌握了生词、短语、语法的基础上,学会识别英语中几咱基本的修辞格,有助于学生从篇章上理解原文,从文学的角度欣赏作品。如果学生对修辞格一无所知,势必会对文章的理解肤浅,甚至形成障碍,更谈不上欣赏好的作品了。英语中的修辞手段与汉语的修辞手段有很多是相似的。 《大学英语》中动用了明喻(Simile)、暗喻(Metaphor)、转喻(Metonymy)、头韵(Alliteration)、讥讽(Sarcasm)、夸张(HyperNole)、平行(Parallelism)、反语(Irony)、转类形容词(Transferred Epither)、以及拟声(Onomatotpoeia)等修辞手段。 常用的英语比喻词有as(如),like(象)
