19世紀末、20世紀初,中國文學作品向法國的譯介與傳播活動進行得如火如荼。但在一定程度上我們應將這些行爲置於當時不少譯介者所處的宗教話語體系中來觀察和理解。他們對中國文學的理解,往往打着符象派(figurisme)的烙印並充滿了耶穌會色彩。其中戴遂良神父(Léon Wieger,1856年生於法國斯特拉斯堡,1933卒於中國獻縣)的文學翻譯活動尤其值得我們注意,他的翻譯行爲實際上是對中國文學作品之美學特徵的否認。以下就其翻譯作品集《現代中國民間故事》(Folk-lore chinois moderne)的編纂、翻譯和命名行爲進行淺析。
In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the translation and dissemination of Chinese literary works to France took place in full swing. To a certain extent, however, we should observe and understand these behaviors in the system of religious discourse where many translators now lived. Their understanding of Chinese literature is often marked by the figurisme and full of Jesuits. Among them, the literary translation of Léon Wieger (Born in Strasbourg, France in 1856 and died in Xianxian, China in 1933) deserves our attention. His translation is in fact a denial of the aesthetic characteristics of Chinese literature . The following is a translation of his translation of “Modern Chinese Folk Story” (Folk-lore chinois moderne) editing, translation and naming behavior analysis.
