红皮小麻品种,系我所从川南红皮小麻地方品种中通过分离选育而成。原麻为黄白色,单纤维细度较高,且较为稳定,多年测定平均为1926米/克。据全国苧麻主产四省现大面积推广品种送样,经中国纤维检验局统一测定,四川红皮小麻平均为2401.7米/克,居首位,是纺织细薄型产品的原料。为适应国际市场对高档苧麻纺织产品的需求,增强竞争能力,红皮小麻已列为我省推广的良种。重庆市苧麻纺织总厂与广安、乐山、荣昌县联合建立优质苧麻原料生产基地。1985年开始种植红皮小麻现初见成效。1986年不完全统计,红皮小麻已占全省苧麻无性繁殖总面积的14.12％,目前面积仍继续在扩大中。红皮小麻适应范围较广,在平坝、丘陵、山
