南洋第一次劝业会上的“美术馆”使中国的现代美术馆事业迈上了第一级阶梯,也步入了第一个平台期。现在我们不难理解,博览会、劝业会上的“美术馆”并不是真正现代意义上的美术馆,那只是因展览(博览会、劝业会)而建设的临时机构。即使这种美术馆出现之后,中国很快就建设了真正的现代博物馆,但中国人对于美术馆的认识,在一定时间段内都难以超越这个层面。基于这个稍有偏差的认识起点,中国的官方代表团和知识分子继续积累经验和知识,并共同编织出了中国早期美
The Art Museum at the First Encouraging Association in Nanyang took China’s modern art museum to the first stage and also entered the first platform period. Now it is not hard for us to understand that the “art museum” at the fair and council is not really a museum in the modern sense. It is only a temporary institution built for exhibitions (expositions and councils). Even after this art museum appeared, China soon built a true modern museum. However, Chinese people’s understanding of the art museum can hardly surpass this level for a certain period of time.
