Transcriptional Factors The interaction of the estrogen receptor (ER) with nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-κB) has been investigated in a variety of tissue cell types. ER can affect the transcriptional activity of NF-κB in many aspects of NF-κB signal transduction pathway: affect the cytoplasmic NF-κB inhibitor protein and its kinase complex; influence the nuclear translocation of NF-κB; influence DNA-binding activity of NF-κB; influence NF-κB activity by interacting with co-regulatory proteins. The interaction between the two in a variety of diseases such as breast cancer, menopausal and gender-related immune diseases, postmenopausal osteoporosis and other occurrence and development of great significance.
