1962年,我走上语文教学岗位尚不到两年,当时全省语文界掀起了学习、讨论、贯彻吴天石同志关于加强语文基础知识教学和基本训练的讲话的热潮。这对我和当时一大批青年教师产生了深刻的、久远的乃至终身的影响。而今重温三十年前吴老的《讲话》,仍倍感亲切。改进语文教学和提高语文教学质量的问题,涉及到语文教学的性质、目的和任务等许多方面。五十年代后期,由于受到前苏联某些教育理论的影响和我国“大跃进”左的思潮的冲击,语文界出现了文学课、政治课和语文课之争。一些地区、学校忽视语文因素教学,降低了语文教学质量。吴老的《讲话》,抓住语文教学的鲜明个性和特点,从改进语文教学、提高语文教
In 1962, I took the post of Chinese language teaching for less than two years. At that time, the language circle in the province set off an upsurge in the study, discussion, and implementation of Comrade Wu Tianshi’s speech on strengthening basic knowledge teaching and basic training. This has had a profound, long-lasting and even lifetime impact on me and a large number of young teachers at that time. Today, revisiting Wu Lao’s “Speech” 30 years ago still feels very warm. The problems of improving Chinese teaching and improving the quality of Chinese teaching involve many aspects such as the nature, purpose, and tasks of Chinese teaching. In the late 1950s, due to the influence of certain educational theories of the former Soviet Union and the impact of the left-leaning thoughts of China’s “Great Leap Forward,” the Chinese language community had a struggle in literature, politics, and language classes. Some regions and schools have neglected the teaching of language factors and have reduced the quality of language teaching. Wu Lao’s “Speech” seizes the distinct personality and characteristics of Chinese language teaching, from improving Chinese language teaching to improving Chinese teaching.
