民间艺术教育是以民间艺术的完成作品、制作过程、民俗内涵为媒介和手段,对大学生进行非功利性艺术教育的系统性活动。它以培养人的审美能力、扩展人的知识面、增强人的民族归属感为目的。民间艺术教育兼有审美功能与非审美功能,一方面,无论是年画和泥塑这样的空间性民间艺术,还是秧歌、花儿这样的时间性民间艺术,都可以提升人的审美能力,增强对美的感悟。另一方面,民间艺术具有强烈的本土文化色彩,通过审美能力所感知到的民间艺术中的造型美与民俗内涵,可以促进人和社会关系更紧密。
