Japan’s Sony Corporation believes that brand-name relying on their own strength, the power of others is difficult to borrow. That’s exactly what they did, creating - a brand name that rings in the world. In 1954, Sony acquired patent rights to semiconductor transistors from the Westin Company of the United States with a huge amount of foreign exchange and successfully developed a transistor radio in 1955. By 1957, the small semiconductor radio “TR-63” appeared on the market and soon monopolized Japan’s domestic market. Sony, in turn, pushed the new product to the United States, the birthplace of transistor technology
