一 中国当代美术现状给我刻骨铭心的感受即是寻找、寻找、再寻找。从80年代的狂飙突进到波普艺术,从写实主义到形式抽象,从表现主义到观念艺术,从群体活动到个体行为,从全盘西化到传统寻根,从神性图语到庄禅风姿,从巨痛深刻到嬉皮玩世,从架上走到架下,从装置走向行为……我们的艺术探索之路何等艰辛地走过一步又一步,每一个足迹都在我们生存的这个世界中层示了当代图语所能达至的一切可能,如此一种需要——创生(通过移植)和融纳的过程,构成了当今中国美术的特殊景观,也促成了一批又一批卓有成就的艺术家与作品。在这个艰辛的历程之中,艺术家从各个不同的视角,诸如整个文化语境、观念系统、艺术图式等方面寻找着对那今天认为业已陈旧的传统艺术进行挑战的更为有力的方式,每个艺术家都怀着各自不尽相同的理想与方式进行着似
