Since the liberation, the design of the lining structure of railway tunnel in our country mainly adopts the Platts theory and the La-Brinell lining calculation method. Through a large number of engineering practice and scientific experiments, it is found that the tunnel lining designed according to this theory and method has a great impact on the state of stress and the actual lining, and even the opposite results. During the meetings of the “Tunnel Regulation” in 1972, it was unanimously agreed that the method of determining and calculating the load on the tunnel lining is a very worthwhile issue to be studied.
