From 1939 to 1940, China sought a series of diplomatic ties with Britain and the United States in search of international assistance and tried to establish a united front of the Far East and internment to contain Japan’s aggression and expansion. Since Great Britain must deal with the main force against the German offensive, and the United States has not yet completely got rid of the isolationism, these efforts by China have not yielded any direct results. However, through these efforts, China has strengthened its ties with Western countries led by the Anglo-American countries so that they have a clearer understanding of China’s determination to carry through to the war of resistance against Japan and thus create the necessary conditions for China to obtain large-scale international aid. With the international community’s all-round assistance to China, the United Front for Japan in the Far East has taken shape.
