The polarization-sensitive reflector deployment mechanism consists of a pair of identical unfolding hinges and a governor, each of which has a powered torsion spring and locking mechanism; the governor is connected to the deployment shaft by a sheave. The mechanism passes the qualification test including vibration and vacuum thermal cycling .
