党的十三届四中全会认真总结了思想战线的现实,提出要认真加强思想政治工作,努力开展艰苦奋斗教育。江泽民总书记在庆祝中华人民共和国成立40周年大会上,又强调指出:“全党同志必须充分发扬艰苦奋斗、勤俭节约的精神,以身作则,同全国人民一道,过几年紧日子”。
The Fourth Plenary Session of the 13th Central Committee of the Party conscientiously summed up the reality of the ideological front and proposed that we should conscientiously strengthen our ideological and political work and strive to carry out education with hard work. At the congress of celebrating the 40th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, General Secretary Jiang Zemin also stressed: “Comrades of the entire party must give full play to the spirit of hard work and thrift, save themselves and lead by example, and work with the people throughout the country for years.”
