辽末,女真完颜部发起灭辽战争。辽天祚帝奔入夹山,之后数度进出夹山,辗转于辽与宋夏边境地带,最终被金军俘虏。关于此段史实,诸多史料记载各异,文章就理清这段史实作了一些尝试,认为天祚帝在奄遏下水之战后是南奔应州河阴县,而非北逃阴山山金司。关于其被俘的地点,《金史》所记“(朔州)阿敦山之东”、“应州西余睹谷”系为一地,即辽河阴县南之余睹谷。《辽史》中天祚被俘于“应州新城东六十里”的说法不可取,而应是被俘于应州新城南六十里。
