为了解决平炉炉头供热火焰不易控制、燃耗高、炉顶寿命低等问题,研究采用了炉顶氧油枪。该氧油枪的结构为,沿炉长方向喷头油出孔采用双孔带张角,氧出孔采用月牙形带张角,枪头部材质为紫铜,用汽化水做为冷却介质,油雾化在枪尾。采用炉顶氧油枪后,综合能耗降低5~766kgce/t钢,炉顶烧损速度降低0.92mm/炉,前后墙没有烧损。该枪能适应大平炉生产的需要。
