人眼球前、后极存在着几个毫伏的电位差,角膜侧为正极。眼电图检查(Electro-oculography,简称EOG)是记录这种静态电位的一种方法,通常在内、外眦皮肤上安放一对电极,在眼球左右转动时将记录下相对电位值,EOG 是视觉电生理检查方法中一种新的重要组成部分。1962年Arden 等提出在暗适应与明适应中来测定眼电位的变化,并用光峰电位与暗谷电位之比等指标表示视网膜最外层的功能,至此EOG 才作为一种客观检查方法用
