OBJECTIVE: To investigate the changes of time-consuming number of tasks in obese adolescents before and after mental stress, and to explore some of the cognitive functions of obese adolescents. METHODS: Convenient sampling was used. The final 254 students were included in the analysis, and the degree of obesity was divided according to body mass index (BMI). The Wechsler Intelligence Scale test 60 ~ 70min as a mental activity load, before and after the load Stroop test. Results Compared with the normal group, the time-consuming number of contradiction in obesity group and overweight group was significantly higher than that of the normal group (P <0.05). After mental activity load, the time-consuming number of pure color and character-independent obesity group and overweight group were all higher than that of normal group (P <0.05). And with the increase of BMI Z score, the time-consuming number of three indicators increased. Conclusion Overweight and obesity in adolescents can significantly affect the cognition process of Stroop experiment, and the higher the BMI Z score, the more obvious the involvement of cognitive processing.
