马蒂斯的作品以追求自我的情感来表达,他的构图形式新颖、有特色,所使用的分散式构图和造型的结合更是对艺术最大的体现。身为野兽派的代表人物,马蒂斯在形体上吸收了印象派反对再现的绘画理论,又发展了东方绘画风格的平面效果,追求艺术的表现形式。他的作品更多表现了画家自我的情感表达。
