生物技术是现代高新科技之一,许多发达国家都予以高度重视,投入大量人力物力进行研究.上海市农科院园艺所蔬菜三室室主任、副研究员钟仲贤同志,长期以来从事蔬菜生物技术研究工作,已取得了显著的成就.在青菜、青花菜、甘蓝等蔬莱生物技术研究方面已达到国内领先水平.主要指标达到国际先进水平.钟仲贤同志1962年毕业于北京大学生物系植物生理专业,6年寒窗学得了当时国内一流的生物专业基础知识,为开展生物技术研究打下了扎实、宽广的基础.同年分配到上海农科院园艺所工作,曾参加西瓜、黄瓜、蔬菜贮藏等项科研.1976年开始,在他主持下,克服了许多困难,从无到有,白手起家,筹建了简易组织培养室,开设了“青菜、甘蓝等蔬菜花药培养研究”项目,较早地开始了蔬菜生物技术研究工作.经两年的努力,取得了重大突破,在国际上首次育成青菜单倍体植株并得到重演,获得了一批新的种质,又在国内首次育成了甘蓝单倍体植株并得到一批新的种质.1979年起继而进行青花菜的组织培养和引种研究,取得重大进展.1992年开始,他主持国家自然科学基金和市科委两个项目,在蔬菜原生质体培养研究上取得突破性进展,“青花菜、甘蓝下胚轴原生质体高频再生研究”,1994年10月通过专家鉴定,获高度评价:项目研究已达到国家《86(?)》计划要求?
